Choir Aims

The aim of the Helensburgh Oratorio Choir is to perform choral music at a professional standard accompanied by professional orchestras and soloists. In addition to performing large scale works we also undertake smaller recital concerts both in Helensburgh and elsewhere. These recitals are often given in support of charities and, in particular, the choir has given several recitals in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief. Thus we aim to enhance the cultural quality of life for the community as well as having an enjoyable time.

In the constitution this is stated as:
"The object of the Choir shall be to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of choral music in all its aspects, by the presentation of public concerts, recitals, and be willing to help in the welfare of the community and by such other ways as the Choir, through its Committee, shall determine from time to time."
